Melasma

Melasma is a skin condition characterized by brown or gray-brown patches, usually on the face. It is often triggered by hormonal changes, sun exposure, or genetic factors. It affects mainly women and requires targeted treatment for effective management.

Types of Melasma

Epidermal Melasma

Dark patches on the outer layer of the skin (epidermis), typically more responsive to treatment.

Dermal Melasma

Patches deeper in the skin (dermis), usually harder to treat and may appear bluish.

Mixed Melasma

A combination of epidermal and dermal melasma, showing both dark and bluish patches.
